Milan in April 2020 had its peak of infected people by the coronavirus. The only rule to stop the pandemic is isolation, but lots of people don't have a proper living space for that. Few meters from the Milan Central train station there is the temporarily closed Hotel Michelangelo , usually packed of tourists and businessmen, it has transformed to be able to host covid-19positive patients who have no place where to spend their quarantine safely. The reception is the only common area reserved to the staff, once you have checked in as a patient you will not be allowed to leave the room for any reason at any time.9 to 15 square meters, 7 days a week 24hours a day. Meals are left outside the door, so are the products for the room cleaning and the changing of the sheets. The Proges cooperative was the first to be appointed by the City of Milan to manage the guests, about 200 during the peak of the pandemic wave and a total of 511 people, with a higher and higher turnover. From meals to oxygen measurement, all aspects of life in isolation are taken care of by about 30 employees: doctors, hospital technicians, kitchen staff, cleaning and disinfection staff.t The Michelangelo experience ended in July 2020
